Due to the Dynamic Many-to-Many Connectivity™ (DMMC) capabilities of the Anue 5200 Series Net Tool Optimizer, the device can be deployed in any combination of network ports and tools. The system will ensure that the right data reaches each tool from all network ports (SPANs/Taps).
The most typical uses of Monitoring Optimization are:
Aggregation: Filtering and routing traffic from multiple access points to a single tool (Many-to-Any)
Port-Sharing: Filtering and routing traffic from one access point to multiple tools (Any-to-Many)
Using traditional filtering approaches (Ingress and/or Egress filters programmed via Command Line Interface / CLI), it is rather straightforward to aggregate or share ports, assuming the operator is well versed in CLI scripting. However, neither of these traditional filtering approaches lends itself well to simultaneous aggregation and port-sharing due to high risk of dropped packets when used in combination.
To solve this problem, Anue Systems developed DMMC. This functionality enables:
All of the benefits of Ingress and Egress filtering without the accompanying risk of dropped packets in a real data center
Built-in, automated accuracy check to ensure complete traffic delivery to the appropriate tools
DMMC’s strength is its ability to simultaneously aggregate and share ports, and only Anue has it.
