Anue Systems Network Emulators use a unique hardware-based architecture that provides the performance and repeatability necessary to authentically emulate the real-world networks that your storage solutions will be deployed in. Our Network Emulators are used in test labs to test and validate disaster recovery, data center deployment/consolidation/relocation and storage extension solutions under real-world conditions. In addition, you can use the Network Emulators to emulate your production network and storage area network (SAN) environment in a lab to troubleshoot post deployment performance problems.
Key Benefits
- Validate remote storage locations before deployment
- Determine required bandwidth and assess sensitivity to wide area network (WAN) latency and impairments
- Test Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) links at full-line rate 10Gbps full-duplex
- Test backup and replication scenarios
- Ensure that consolidation or movement of data centers does not cause loss of productivity
Anue Network Emulators
- Run 100% line rate traffic from 10Mbps to 10Gbps at any frame size
- Define up to 64 distinct Network Profiles emulating 64 network clouds for Ethernet
- Support all standard Fibre Channel frame formats and functions regardless of frame size
- Support differential impairment for up to 64 profiles based on user-defined filters for Ethernet (e.g., FCoE)
- Provide Synchronous Optical Networking (SONET) path-level delay and signal delay which allow technologies such as VCAT/LCAS/GFP to be tested
Hardware Platforms
Anue Network Emulators are available on two platforms, Maui and Hawaii. Both Maui and Hawaii consist of a 2U rack-mount chassis.
- The Maui platform supports up to four blades and data rates up to 2.6Gbps
- The Hawaii platform supports up to two blades and data rates up to 11.3Gbps
Network Emulation Applications for this Solution
- Ethernet: 10Mbps - 10Gbps
- Fibre Channel: 1Gbps - 10Gbps
- SONET/SDH (Delay Generation and Path Delay): OC-3 through OC-192 and OTN (OTU-1, OTU-2, OTU-2E)
Network Emulation Features
- Delay, Bit errors, Loss of Signal (LOS) and Loss of Lock (LOL)
- Ethernet: Drop, reorder, duplicate, corrupt CRC, corrupt data, IPv4 packet fragmentation, delay, jitter, delay, bit errors, Loss of Signal (LOS) and Loss of Lock (LOL), bandwidth control, capture inline data, playback impairment distributions
Operation
